Oil filtering equipment shall be of a design approved by the administration. In considering the design of such equipment and approvals, the administration shall have regard to specifications recommended by the organization. The vessel is equipped with a MEPC.107(49) oil content meter. According to the operation manual, the capability exists on the machine to display the log. The oil content meter operational log is not able to be displayed. Ship shall provide proper operation of the logging capability of the oil content meter.
Deficiency originally issued prior to departure, but due to class/Flag documentation, vessel schedule, and limited availiability of technicians, deficiency was amended to be rectified at next port.
