PSCO discovered port & starboard side liferafts stowed w/ the painter line attached to the cradle rendering the float free arrangement inoperative.-74 SOLAS XI-1/4.1

Resolution: ABS surveyor boarded vessel and verified proper float free arrangement of port and starboard liferafts. Additionally vessel''s superintendent boarded and provided training to the ship''s crew on how to properly stow and secure the vessel''s liferafts.

0610-Lifeboats-Chemical tankers and gas carriers carrying cargoes emitting toxic vapours or gases shall carry, lifeboats with a self-contained air support system complying with the requirements of section 4.8 of the Code. PSCO discovered the air regulator valve knob in the starboard side lifeboat stripped rendering the lifeboats air support system inoperative.-74 SOLAS III/31.1.6 & LSA Code 4.8

Resolution: An ABS surveyor boarded the vessel and verified that the air regulator valve was properly repaired. The knob and spindle valve were provided with a safety pin, the starboard lifeboat''s air support system is now operational.

Resolution: An ABS surveyor boarded the vessel and verified that the main engine #1 fuel pump was overhauled by the vessel''s crew. No evidence of an oil leak from the main engine #1 was observed during this visit.

Resolution: During the attendance period the surveyor carried out a visual examination of the main engine #2 cylinder including its jacket water system, it was noticed that was noticed that the main engine was operating within its normal parameter.

0628-Stowage of Liferafts-Each liferaft or group of liferafts shall be stowed with a float free arrangement complying with the requirements of the paragraph 4.1.6 of the Code. PSCO observed the painter lines on both port and starboard side liferafts attached directly to the deck welded cradle, preventing the proper operation of the float free arrangement.-74 SOLAS III/13.4.2

Vessel has a slop tank designated as a residual tank (cap. 99 cubic meters) that is used for tank washing residues & not listed under section 6.2 of the IOPP-MARPOL Annex I/6.4.2

Resolution: An ABS surveyor boarded the above mentioned vessel and verified the approved onboard tanks in relationship to the residual tank. Upon completion of the research, the IOPP Form B was amended in order to reflect the additional compartment.
