07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Fire fighting equipment and appliances
Issued 16 January 2026
Resolved
At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification, the owner or managing operator must be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspection of its fire protection equipment, including the following: Inspection of each fixed gas fire extinguishing system to check for excessive corrosion and general condition. The last CO2 discharge nozzle on the port aft side was clogged with material. IFS carried out servicing in June 2025.
46 CFR 176.810(a)(1)
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Bilge pumping arrangements
Issued 16 January 2026
Resolved
A vessel must be provided with a satisfactory arrangement for draining any watertight compartment, other than small buoyancy compartments, under all practicable conditions. Port engine room bilge pump casing has a hairline crack on it.
46 CFR 182.500(a)
99 - Other › N/A - No Subsystem › Other (Safety in general)
Issued 17 August 2024
Resolved
The cognizant OCMI may require that a vessel and its equipment undergo any additional test or inspection deemed reasonable and necessary to determine that the vessel and its equipment are suitable for the service in which they are to be employed.
Ferry reported to SEC Corpus Christi CMD Center that the vessel caught a strong current and missed landing zone. Vessel grounded and is awaiting full damage assessment by a USCG Marine Inspector once ungrounded. Vessel is allowed to transit to a safe mooring location and must complete a safety inspection by a USCG Marine Inspector Prior to Movement and Carriage of Passengers.
46 CFR 176.840
07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Fire fighting equipment and appliances
Issued 17 December 2020
Resolved
On a vessel of more than 65 feet in length, the minimum capacity of the fire pump must be 50 gallons per minute at a pressure of not less than 60 psi at the pump outlet. The pump outlet must be fitted with a pressure gauge. Provide pressure gauge at the pump outlet to the satisfaction of the cognizant OCMI.
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Bilge pumping arrangements
Issued 6 April 2020
Resolved
Machinery and equipment must be installed and maintained in such a manner as to afford adequate protection from causing fire, explosion, machinery failure and personnel injury. Submersible electric bilge pumps for small compartment under shaft seals are not operating as designed. This system is redundant in space which already has a fixed bilge system Repair to manufactures specifications.
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Propulsion main engine
Issued 28 April 2019
Resolved
Propulsion machinery must be suitable in type and design for propulsion requirements of the hull in which it is installed and capable of operating at constant marine load under such requirements without exceeding its designed limitations. The vessel experienced a loss of propulsion from its forward main engine while docking. The vessel was able to restart the engine and dock at Port Aransas dock 5. A technician has found the master cylinder to the brake shaft depleted which caused the shaft to stall the engine. They are troubleshooting the cause of the fluid loss. Vessel is allowed to get underway for purposes of troubleshooting only.
08 - Alarms › N/A - No Subsystem › Machinery controls alarm
Issued 31 January 2019
Resolved
The cognizant OCMI may require that a vessel and its equipment undergo any additional test or inspection deemed reasonable and necessary to determine that the vessel and its equipment are suitable for the service in which they are to be employed. Prior to carrying passengers, the vessel's generator and applicable machinary must be inspected and tested to determine if alarm indications can be replicated.
04 - Emergency Systems › N/A - No Subsystem › Water level indicator
Issued 11 September 2018
Resolved
On a vessel of at least 26 feet in length, a visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate a high water level in each normally unmanned space. During COI renewal bilge high level alarms were visual, but not audible at the operating station. Deficiency corrected on the spot.
02 - Structural Conditions › N/A - No Subsystem › Openings to cargo area, doors, ... scuttles
Issued 2 July 2018
Resolved
On a vessel authorized to carry one or more vehicles, suitable chains, cables, or other barriers must be installed at the end of each vehicle runway. During damage survey after vessel casualty, the barrier gate allowing vehicles to load on and off the ramp was found damaged due to allision with the pier. Repairs must be made to the satisfaction of attending Marine Inspector.
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Propulsion main engine
Issued 2 July 2018
Resolved
Propulsion machinery must be suitable in type and design for propulsion requirements of the hull in which it is installed and capable of operating at constant marine load under such requirements without exceeding its design limitations. During examination of reparis, it was found that the #2 engine lost propulsion while the vessel was entering its berthing causing the vessel to strike the pier and cause damage. Troubleshooting of the cause must take place and repairs must be made to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector.
Construction/Loadline › Structures › Deck Plating
Issued 18 June 2018
Resolved
Barrier gate used to moor between vessel and loading/discharge area was damaged in collision between vessel and dock.
Engineering › Engine Controls (Electric/Electronic) › Linkage
Issued 18 June 2018
Resolved
Vessel lost propulsion while crossing Aransas Pass. Vessel did not respond to command from Master during docking evolution and struck mooring location, damaging vessel.
Communications › Alarms/Indicators › Fire Alarm

Ownership record
The Coast Guard's documentation record for this hull -- the Abstract of Title,
with its owners and liens as filed -- is not in PSIX. Ask, and Maury buys it from the National
Vessel Documentation Center, files it here with its date, and every reader of this page gets it.
