Vessel history report

Every record for one hull, in one document.

$300. One hull, the whole US Coast Guard record, in one dated document you can cite and attach. Three are published in full below. Request one from its vessel page, or here.

What it gives that the free page does not

The vessel page shows the record. The report is the record, in one file: every inspection, deficiency, control, name, tow unit and casualty investigation the Coast Guard recorded against the hull, in one chronology, with the activity id on every line so any line can be checked against the source, and the retrieval date and data vintage on the cover so it can be cited by date. It is built to print to PDF with its page breaks, so a surveyor can attach it to a survey and a lender can file it. Nothing in it is added, scored or interpreted: it is the same facts as the page, complete, dated and in one document.

What is in it

Every recorded inspection, 1972 to 2026, in one chronology, each with the Coast Guard's own activity id so any line can be checked against the source.
Every deficiency, with the system it concerns, the dates, and whether a resolution was recorded.
Every operational control, imposed and removed.
Every name the hull has been recorded under, and when.
The vessels it was inspected alongside as a tow unit, and when.
Every casualty record it appears in, with the Coast Guard's classification.
How its record compares with hulls of similar age and size — a fact about the population, never a judgement about this vessel.

Read one first, in full

Which hulls have one

A report is offered only when the record can fill one: six or more inspections, a deficiency, or an operational control, across two or more calendar years. Today that is 30,866 of the 112,435 published hulls. Every vessel page says whether its report is offered, and when it is not, why not — a statement about the record, not about the vessel.

What it is not

It carries no score, rating or grade, and no opinion about the vessel's condition. Every figure in it is a count of records the Coast Guard wrote, or a date it recorded. The comparison with similar hulls is a population fact stated with its population. What Maury does not do.

Request a report

A request, not a checkout: name the hull and leave an email, and Maury replies once, with the dated document and a Stripe invoice for $300. Nothing is charged before the document is in your hands. The three samples above are what you receive.
