Propulsion machinery, including main engines, reduction gears, shafting, bearings, and electrical equipment and systems, must: Be maintained to ensure proper operation. 15APR25: Received call from command center. On 15APR25 at approximately 1730, the MV [name withheld] was transiting from Port Arthur, TX to Bayou Fleet at MM124 pushing two red flag barges carrying life cycle oil. At MM 123 vessel lost #1 MDE. As they were mooring at Bayou Fleet at MM 124 they lost #2 MDE. They are awaiting a Caterpillar Technician to diagnose the issue. Vessel must provide tech report and TSMS survey attesting to the proper function of the MDEs as well as functional tests of MDEs 46 CFR 142.205(c)(1)
