On 08 November 2021 at approx. 19:30 the CBC 340 loaded
with VGO was damaged by an allision with the lock wall
at Markland Lock and Dam, mile 531 Ohio River. The CBC 340 received damage described by the marine surveyor as "commencing 6'forward of the port No 1 aft bulkhead and extending forward 13',the upper extreme 3' of side and formed gunwale is set in from 0 - 3" to varying degrees with internals distorted to conform." This damage was determined to fall into the minor definition allowed by the TBSIP program Canal Barge Company barges participates in. The CBC 340 was authorized to proceed to Marathon Refinery, Garyville, LA, LMR mile 140 to offload and then to a shipyard TBD for permanent repairs.
