Vessel had major engine room fire, causing damage to engine room, accommodations deck, and pilot house. Vessel is authorized to transit from National Maintenance – Paducah, MM 5 TN River to Terral RiverService – Fleet, MM 5 Red River IAW approved transit plan. Once arrived, contact MSD Vicksburg for repair oversight and permission for any further movement.

Each towing vessel must have a means to monitor and control the amount of thrust and rudder angle at each operating station. Diver noted that the port rudder was missing due to damage sustained from marine casualty. The diver also noted a worn cutlass bearing and wear on wheels. Vessel must make permanent repairs to the rudder system to the satisfaction of the vessel's TPO. In addition, the vessel must complete an in-service inspection with a USCG Marine Inspector prior to going back into service.
