While vessel was transiting outbound Houston Ship Channel in vicinity of Galveston Jetty Buoy 1B, vessel collided with tug and barge, causing damage to starboard forward quarter resulting in a 12 inch by 1 inch tear inside shell plating in way of frame 136-135.. While vessel was transiting outbound Houston Ship Channel in vicinity of Galveston Jetty Buoy 1B, vessel experienced an unexplained loss of power and propulsion control/steering while attempting to switch power from auxiliary diesel generators to shaft generator.
