Akternatively, pressure sensors may be fitted in each tank protected by the arrangement required in paragraph 6.1.2, with a monitoring system in the ships cargo control room or the position from which cargo operations are normally carried out. Such monitoring equipment shall provide an alarm facility which is activated by detection of over-pressure or under-pressure conditions within a tank. The master, owner, operator, agent, or person in charge of a vessel equipped with ballast tanks that operates in the waters of the United States must employ one of the authorized ballast water management methods listed in 33 CFR 151.2025(a). Vessel's ballast water management system is inoperable. Vessel has been granted an extraordinary circumstance to employ the ballast water management method listed in 33 CFR 151.2025(a)(3) to conduct cargo operations while in the Sector New Orleans COTP Zone.
