Safety management system records indicated visual monthly inspections of immersion suits were being conducted, but 23 out of 27 suits were in vacuum sealed wrappers which do not allow the crew to complete a visual inspection.

A food ration shall be kept in airtight packaging and be stowed in a watertight container. All 25 food rations stowed on board the freefall lifeboat were found to have a loss of vaccuum seal.
