Vessel reported striking the underside of the North Claiborne Bridge with its stern mast. Vessel is allowed a one-time transit to FMT to conduct repairs, and must provide a TPO report attesting to satisfactory repairs prior to departure from FMT. 46 CFR 140.620(b)

Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons onboard under normal and emergency conditions. Vessel suffered a loss of propulsion casualty on stbd main due to a leak on the stbd reduction gear. Vessel shall enact permanent repairs to the satisfaction of the TPO.
