The machinery, boilers, and other pressure vessels associated piping systems and fittings should be of a design and construction of adequate for the service for which they are intended and shall be so installed and protected as to reduce to a minimum any danger to persons on board, due regard being paid to moving parts, hot surfaces, and other hazards. PSCO observed seawater and high temp alarms in alarm history which lead to a reduction in RPMs. Make repairs and test cooling water system and main engine to satisfaction of recognized classification society. 74 SOLAS(20) II-1/26.1 60ac PTM.

Resolution: CREWS CHANGED SW PUMP SUCTION FROM HIGH SEA CHEST TO LOW SEA CHEST AND RELEASED AIR FROM THE PUMP MAKING THE PUMP RUN NORMALLY. CLASS REPORT ATTATCHED SATISFYING THE REQUIREMENTS.
