Doors provided to ensure the watertight integrity of internal openings which are used while at sea are to be sliding watertight doors capable of being remotely closed from the bridge and are also to be operable locally from each side of the bulkhead. When PSCO tested watertight door leading into steering gear room, watertight door would only close using the hand-operated mechanism and not the remote operated system. 74SOLAS(04 CONS) II-1/25-9.2 10c
