Issued 26 July 2024 Resolved
All tank vessels, the construction or conversion of which is started on or after July 1, 1951, shall conform to the requirements in this subpart in construction of hulls. The hull and deckhouses shall be of steel or iron construction except that the pilothouse and decks over quarters may be constructed of wood. Scantlings, material, and workmanship, subdivision of cargo spaces, fitting of cofferdams, and testing of tanks shall be at least equivalent to the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping or other recognized classification society. Vessel reported damage to port side shell located amidships above the waterline stretching from the #2 tank to #4 tank. Vessel owner to conduct roving watch ensuring no further water ingress into void space until the following requirements are met: 1) Vessel to cut and patch entirety of impact area. Vessel is authorized one time transit and discharge to enact permanent repairs to the satisfaction of the Coast Guard. 46 CFR 32-60.1(a) 701ac

Issued 13 November 2020 Resolved
No extensive repairs to the hull or machinery which affect the safety of a vessel shall be made without the knowledge of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection. Vessel sustained allision resulting in damage to starboard bow deck, gunwale and upper side plates that were distorted 0" to 1'6" over a 14'0" x 6'0" area from the aft bulkhead extending forward, with a 3" fine line fracture at a point approximately 3'0" above the load line. Vessel is restricted from movement with the exception: Vessel may proceed from current position to offload cargo at Carline Waggaman Fleet(LMR 114). Upon discharge, the LCP-8 will depart Northbound to Parks Marine Drydock(LMR 183) for repairs IAW transit plan. Vessel shall contact MSU Baton Rouge and Sector New Orleans once she in MSU Baton Rouge's AOR and once they arrive back from repair facility.
