05111 - Every ship shall be provided with a satellite emergency position-indicating radio beacon (satellite EPIRB) capable of transmitting a distress alert through the polar orbiting satellite service operating in the 406 MHz band. Observed failed self-test of EPIRB which according to the user manual indicated that the EPIRB should be immediately removed from service. 74 SOLAS (2014) IV/7 1.6.1 - 17ac
