The over speed alarm was found inoperable on generators #1 and #2. The #1 generator was also found with an inoperable remote switch for the governor at the switchboard. The vessel is permitted to transit to Guam for repairs. An engineer is required to maintain a watch on the #2 generator if it is used for this voyage in transit to Guam. Contact USCG Sector Guam for a re-inspection once repairs are completed on the generators. The vessel is not permitted to make the return voyage back to Saipan until repairs are verified by an attending USCG marine inspector in Guam.
