Release switches shall have an on-off function to prevent automatic resetting. The fire sliding doors are not fitted with switches with an on-off function on each side of eth door and always resets the system, this results in the door staying in the open position when it comes in contact with an object .

The use of thumb-turn latches, locks and other devices which do not open when a force is applied in the direction of escape are not appropriate in doors within or leading from public spaces.
