Propulsion machinery, including main engines, reduction gears, shafting, bearings, and electrical equipment and systems must: (1) be maintained to ensure proper operation; (2) be suitable for route and service; and (3) have suitable propulsion controls to provide the operator full control at each operating station. The port main engines lost propulsion. All repairs and tests must be to the satisfaction of the TPO (TVIB)

Vessel had stbd main engine failure. Repair IAW company TSMS. The vessel's TPO has the option to clear this deficiency in accordance with CG-CVC Policy Letter 17-10. Objective evidence attesting to root cause & satisfactory repairs must be submitted to local OCMI within 72-hours. 46CFR143.205(c)(1)(2)
