One of the two 8 person life floats on board is no longer serviceable. The inside net of the life float was detached from the float due to deterioration. Total persons allowed is restricted to 16 people (02 crewmembers and 14 passengers) until the life float is replaced to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

The floating water light must be attached around the body of the life float by a 10 mm (3/8 inch) lanyard, resistant to deterioration from ultraviolet light, and at least 5.5 meters (18 feet) in length.
The lanyard on the water light was approximately only 12 feet long. Prior to the MI leaving the vessel, the lanyard was replaced with a 18 ft. long lanyard.

The hose clamps on the wet exhaust were not properly secured and leaking cooling water into the bilge. The operator repositioned the clamps and replaced a broken clamp prior to getting underway.
