Vessel owner operator may: 1) repair excessive wastage (25% or greater) by ABS deadline of 04 April 2026 as per ABS Finding 234.1; repair excessive wastage (25% or greater) this availability; or engage with ABS for limited scope scantling assessment by ABS Engineering to ensure the overall wastage does not impair the vessel's structure (less than minimum required section modulus) due to the corrosion to defer ABS Finding 234.1 to December of 2026.

1. The ESSAYONS is restricted to a coastwise route.
2. The launch/workboat shall not operate beyond the line
of site of the vessel.

The scope of the annual inspection is the same as the inspection for certification as specified in §91.25-10 but in less detail unless the cognizant marine inspector finds deficiencies or determines that a major change has occurred since the last inspection. The vessel's water systems used for the storage and distribution of water, including potable water tank system was contaminated and causing illness to the ship's crew. Vessel operation is restricted to no more than 12 hours in a 24 hour period from 01Apr21 to 05Apr21. Adequate potable water must be provided while the vessel is manned. After 05Apr21, the vessel is restricted from operation until permanent repairs to the potable water system have been completed to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.
Vessel must also provide documentation attesting that the potable water tank system has been decontaminated and is safe for human use.

Additionally, the following restrictions are imposed: 1)The ESSAYONS is restricted to a Coastwise route; 2)the workboat shall not operate beyond the line of site of the vessel; and 3)shall carry the necessary rescue boat equipment IAW 46 CFR 199.175 table at all times. Localized pitting found in the #1 centerline double bottom ballast tank bottom plate. The two largest pit depths recorded were 1/4" in depth. Reviewed mid ship scantling, the majority of the heavy pitting is in the center 7'4" section or 5/8" plate. Calculations indicate this is 40% wastage on the bottom shell plate, however, the measurements for the total area of pitting did not indicate this is an extensive area of corrosion but more so localized. The pitting intensity was estimated to be 5% or less scattered over a 33 1/2" long by 21 1/2" wide area. Noted several lone pits throughout the tank. Submit repair plan.
