All vessels shall be provided with a satisfactory arrangement for draining any watertight compartment under all practical conditions. Vessel's installed bilge pumping arrangement using engine driven pump was incapable of taking suction from the engine room compartment due to a cracked hose. Additionally, another hose on the system on the pump is showing signs of external deterioration (cracking), requiring replacement. 46 CFR 182.25-1 (Old T)
