Bow thruster tunnel, found a large pit approximately 2" in diameter and >50% wasted through the tunnel metal. Pit was not new and vessel coatings were undisturbed. Vessel owner stated that the bow thruster is not used and must be an old pit. MI instructed owner to clad weld pit and recoat with vessels antifouling system.
