Mechanically propelled "S" vessels which are ferry vessels or which carry more than 49 passengers and mechanically propelled "L" vessels shall comply with the provisions of Subchapter F of this chapter. Nonmetallic flexible hose must have factory-assembled end fittings requiring no further adjustment or field attachable fittings. Hose end fittings must comply with SAE J1475 (incorporated by reference, see § 56.01-2). Field attachable fittings must be installed following the manufacturer's recommended practice. A hydrostatic test of each hose assembly must be conducted in accordance with § 56.97-5. Attending marine inspector observed the bilge piping connected to the bilge manifold in the engine room with double clamped SAE J 2006 wet exhaust hose. Double clamped hoses are not authorized under Subchapter F. Remove all non-metallic flex hose connected to the bilge piping/manifold in the engine room. Plumb the bilge system in accordance with 46 CFR 56. 46 CFR 182.40-5 46 CFR 56.60-25

46 CFR 176.804 At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification of a vessel, the owner or managing operator shall be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspections of machinery, fuel, and piping systems, including the following:(c) Inspection of all machinery essential to the routine operation of the vessel including generators and cooling systems. Port generator exhaust piping within the steering gear space has 18" crack.

46 CFR 175.05-1(b) Any vessel carrying more than 150 passengers shall comply with the provisions of this sub-chapter and shall be subject to certain additional requirements as determined by the Officer in Charge, Marine-Inspection. These additional requirements are contained in applicable regulations in Subchapter H (Passenger Vessels), and Subchapter P (Manning). **Vessel COI authorizes carriage of more than 150 passengers. In accordance with NVIC 1-91, all senior deckhands must be designated in writing by the master and a copy of this designation should be retained onboard the vessel. **Senior deckhand designation not available for inspection by marine inspectors.**

Combustibles insulated from heated surfaces. Internal combustion engine exhausts, boiler and galley uptakes, and similar sources of ignition must be kept clear of and suitably insulated from combustible material. Port side engine room overhead insulation loose. Reattach loose insulation. 46 CFR 116.405

Electrical equipment on a vessel must be installed and maintained to: Protect passengers, crew, other persons, and the vessel from electrical hazards, including fire, caused by or originating in electrical equipment, and electrical shock, minimize accidental personnel contact with energized parts; and prevent electrical ignition of flammable vapors. Remove or properly terminate wiring in a junction box in way of IWO: 1. aft engine room. 2. water heater within forward center void. 3. voids forward of mid-void. 46 CFR 120.200

Electrical equipment on a vessel must be installed and maintained to: Protect passengers, crew, other persons, and the vessel from electrical hazards, including fire,caused by or originating in electrical equipment, and electrical shock, minimize accidental personnel contact with energized parts; and prevent electrical ignition of flammable vapors. 1. 05 electrical receptacles missing covers on main deck. Replace covers. 2. Lightbulbs missing from multiple light fixtures on various places on main deck. Replace bulbs. 46 CFR 120.200

The owner or managing operator shall be prepared to conduct tests and have the vessel ready for inspection of its fire protection equipment, including the following: Inspection of each hand portable fire extinguisher, to check for excessive corrosion and general condition. Portable fire extinguisher at centerline void missing service records/tag since 2021. Provide service records or replace with servicable extinguisher. 46 CFR 118.500

All escape hatches and other emergency exits used as means of escape must be marked on both sides in clearly legible letters at least 50 millimeters (2 inches) high “EMERGENCY EXIT, KEEP CLEAR”, unless such markings are deemed unnecessary by the cognizant [name withheld] all all visibility blockage of the engine room emergency exits. 46 CFR 122.606

Prove proper operation for the remote starting of the fire pump located in the engine room utilizing the operating station switch. 46 CFR 118.300

Prove proper operations of the starboard fire pump attached to the starboard engine once parts have arrived to return the engine to operations. 46 CFR 118.300

#2 void has electrical cables overhead secured with plastic zip ties. Metal support brackets must be installed at least every 24".

Vessel is restricted to the carriage of not more than one hundred and fifty (150) passengers for hire until a satisfactory MTSA Verification exam is done. Company must also complete satisfactory security drills and a company security exercise with vessel crews as well as show proof of compliance with security training and proficiency for the CSO and VSO.

Effect temporary repairs to the vessel's hull just aft of the starboard engine where water is ingressing into the vessel through a corroded pit approximately 1/4" in diameter. Vessel will go to emergency drydock at the earliest opportunity to conduct permanent repairs, but is not to carry passengers after after 22NOV19. Permanent repairs to be conducted to the satisfaction of the attending CG marine inspector. Temporary repairs will consist of a sandwich doubler with gaskets and bolted through the hull. Vessel operator will check engine room high level alarms and verify proper operation of bilge pumps before every trip with passengers aboard. Operator will log these checks in the vessels log book. Checks will continue until permanent repairs are made.

Replace holed fire hose.

Provide spanner wrenches at fire hydrants.

Prove proper operation of fire pumps remote operation from operating station.

Prove proper operation of emergency lighting.

Provide DCS Radio with GPS.

Provide battery at operating station for reserve power supply for communications equipment.

Upon completion of engine swap, conduct sea trials prior to carriage of passengers.
