The marine inspector may require that the main propulsion machinery be operated both ahead and astern... The port reduction gear has separated from the MDE due to the prop becoming entangled in line. Port Reduction gear needs to be repaired/replaced and reinstalled, Power trial will need to be conducted prior to passengers. 46 CFR 176.25-10 a(1)
