The survey shall be such as to insure that the necessary repairs or renewals have been effectively made, that the material and the workmanship of such repairs or renewals are in all respects satisfactory, and that the vessel complies in all respects with the regulations in this subchapter. It was report that the port MDE had a ruptured expansion joint causing the J/W to drain into the bilge and therefor had to secure the MDE. Conduct repairs and test to the satisfaction of attending CG Marine Inspector prior to carrying passengers.

The lights prescribed in these rules shall have an intensity as specified in Annex I to these rules, so as to be visible at the minimum ranges. Vessels of 50 meters or more in length must have a white all around light for 3 miles. All around white light was found with one light not working and the 2nd all around light working, the off with an alarm at helm station and then flickering. Make repairs and test to the satisfaction of attending CG Marine Inspector.

(1) Previously installed extinguishers with extinguishing capacities smaller than are required in Table 76.50-10(a) of this subpart need not be replaced and may be continued in service so long as they are maintained in good condition to the satisfaction of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection; and
(2) All new equipment and installations must meet the applicable requirements in this subpart for new vessels.
During an expanded examination, the attending inspector discovered eleven (11) fire-extinguishers, that were manufactured after the applicable date and did not have previous identification IAW the vessel Certificate of Inspection. These fire extinguishers do not meet the new classification system required by regulation. Provide change out plan and or renew the fire-extinguishers on board to comply with the regulations of table 76.50-10(a) and to the satisfaction of the Coast Guard.
