This section contains definitions and requirements for types of gauging devices specified in Table 151.05. (a) Open gauging. A gauging method which uses an opening in the cargo tank and which may expose the gauge user to the cargo and its vapors. Examples of this type are gauge hatch, ullage hole. #1 Cargo tank guage hatch cracked around perimeter. Replace/repair as required.

A survey shall be made every time an accident occurs or a defect is discovered which affects the safety of the vessel or whenever any important repairs or renewals are made. The survey shall be such as to insure that the necessary repairs or renewals have been effectively made, that the material and the workmanship of such repairs or renewals are in all respects satisfactory, and that the vessel complies in all respects with the regulations in this subchapter. Temp repairs shall be completed prior to movement. Vessel will transit directly to CTC Georgetown MM 39 OHR for permanent repairs. While underway the following precautions will be made: -No cargo operations until permanent repairs are made. -Notify USCG MSU Pittsburgh of departure and arrival. - Have de-watering pump on standby adjacent to space. - Conduct regular rounds of space and log in towing vessel record. Vessel operator must submit a repair proposal containing permanent repair plans, following arrival.

Openings for fill and vent pipes must be on the topmost surface of a tank. There must be no openings in the bottom, sides, or ends of a tank except an opening fitted with threaded plug or cap may be used on the bottom of the tank for tank cleaning purposes. Clean-out on bottom of tank is equipped with a flange fitting Apply flange shielding as required.

Bolts and studs must extend completely through the nuts. Fuel tank clean out flange bolts do not extend through nuts. Replace bolts with appropriate size as required.

The respective piping systems installed on ships and barges shall have the necessary pumps, valves, regulation valves, safety valves, relief valves, flanges, fittings, pressure gages, liquid level indicators, thermometers, etc., for safe and efficient operation of the vessel. Steam pipe pressure gage broken. Replace as required.

Prior to carriage of cargo complete permanent repairs to sideshell, stbd stern corner iwo deck knuckle where fractured. Barge authorized to transit in empty condition. Temp repair/fracture to be monitored and changes communicated to cognizant [name withheld] to be to satisfaction of attending USCG Marine Inspector.

Repair cable run to the Emergency Shut Down system to ensure proper workingorder.

SIDE CHORD REPAIR IN STBD #4 WING VOID WAS IMPROPER.
