During the fire, soot and smoke was present in the space. Prior to operation of the starboard unloading generator a servicing technician shall inspect and verify the starboard unloading generator is safe for operation. In addition, in the generator housing, it was discovered that rope was being used to support cables. The vessel shall replace the rope with suitable supports IAW manufacturer guidelines. All of the above items shall be completed prior to the operation of the generator and to the satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector.
