The owner, charterer, master or managing operator shall instruct each crew member, upon first being employed and prior to getting underway for the first time on a particular vessel and at least once every three months, as to the duties that the crew member is expected to perform in an emergency including, but not limited to, the emergency instructions listed on the emergency instruction placard required by § 185.510 of this part and, when applicable, the duties listed in the station bill required by § 185.514 of this part. Crew training shall be logged or otherwise documented for review by the Coast Guard upon request. The training entry shall include the following information. (1) Date of the training; and (2) General description of the training topics. Vessel has not conducted man overboard, abandon ship, and fire drill within (3) months. Record keeping for the required drills and monthly inspections were missing and inconsistent. Drills were conducted on the day of annual inspection 27Mar24. Vessel is to create new CY 2024 drill and inspection log provide and proof of drill and inspection entries to the attending marine inspector.

Each survival craft must be: (1) Secured to the vessel by a painter with a float-free link permanently attached to the vessel except that a float-free link is not required if the vessel operates only on waters not as deep as the length of the painter. Vessel's IBA sea painter was not attached to the hydrostatic release. Vessel attached IBA sea painter to the hydrostatic release on site. Deficiency rectified.

During inspection, drill, trainign and inspection records were missing or incomplete. Crew knowledge was deemed adequate through drill performance and vessel's equipment was inspected satisfactorily, but records were not available demonstrating compliance with ongoing training and inspections. Drill, training and equipment inspection record were not kept consistently and did not demonstrate compliance with training, drill and inspection requirements. Provide records showing completion of crew training, completions of fire, abandon ship and man overboard drills, EPIRB tests and fire extinguisher inspections.

Galley ventilation hood not fitted with fixed fire suppression. In accordance with G-MOC policy letter alternate compliance, provide a plan to ensure vent cleanliness to minimize grease build-up.

Abandon ship drills not logged.

Replace current trash cans with non-combustible.

Provide proper fire hose and variable nozzle.

Replace throw line on ring buoy with poly prop.

Prove proper operation of port remote f/o shut off valve.

Crop, insert and NDT in way of existing hole (previous light) in main deck aft.

Prove proper operation of the genset cooling water system prior to carrying passengers.

Provide 02 additional adult Type I lifejackets for a total of 94; restricted to 92 persons until corrected.

Properly connect VHF-DSC radio to GPS.

Properly mark lifejacket storage locations.

Provide P/S aft E/R fire dampers.

Connect GPS to VHF-DSC radio.

Replace cracked pedro hose STBD E/R bilge line

Provide electrical junction box cover STBD E/R.

Replace plastic nipple on bilge line with brass.

Found EPIRB registration and hydrostatic release expired. O/O submitted registration form and replaced the hydrostatic release unit immediately following inspection.

Visual indicator for port pontoon high water alarm broken. Repaired prior to completion of inspection.

Securing chain for water tight hatch for starboard fwd compartment not attached. Chain attached prior to competion of the inspection.

Found 3 orange smoke hand flares that were expired. Operator purchased 6 new orange smoke and 6 new red hand held flares to renew all required pyrotechnics.

Grease screen above griddle in galley had grease build-up. Operator removed screen, cleaned and reinstalled.

Restencil quantity on PFD storage areas identitying number of PFDs stowed inside. Operator corrected prior to completion of the inspection.

Circuit breaker feeding navigation lights faulty. Operator repaired immediately following inspection but could not find proper replacement bulbs. Restricted vessel to operations to between 1/2 hour after sunrise and 1/2 hour before sunset. LEGACY COMPONENT DESC: Navigation Lights

Reweld broken welds at bottom of C/L blkd dividing fore peak compartments.

Reweld broken weld at frame/long. connection on outboard side in port steering gear compartment.

The operating station was missing a visual bilge high level alarm indicator. Issued CG- 835 item to install visual indicator IAW 46 CFR 183.530 prior to taking on passengers.

PROVIDE (11) COAST GUARD APPROVED ADULT PFDS. RESTRICTED TO 95 TOTAL PERSONS UNTIL COMPLETE.

REPLACE RAW WATER HOSE AT HEAT EXCHANGER OUTLET TO OVERBOARD.

PROVIDE (1) COAST GUARD APPROVED TYPE BII FIRE EXTINGUISHER.

PROVIDE A COPY OF FCC REGULATIONS 47 CFR PART 80.

Bolt down generator starting battery boxes in port and stbd engine compartments.

PROPERLY PLUMB THE RAW WATER INTAKES TO THE STARBOARD AND PORT GENERATOR DRIVE COOLING SYSTEMS USING DOUBLE HOSE CLAMPSAT ALL FLEXIBLE HOSE CONNEC- TIONS AND CHAFFING GEAR WHERE REQUIRED.

PROVIDE A CURRENT COPY OF NAVIGATION RULES.

REMOVE APPROXIMATELY 6-10 INCHES OF LUBE OIL FROM STARBOARD ENGINE ROOM BILGE AND PROPERLY DISPOSE OF.

DEMONSTRATE THE PROPER OPERATION OF THE FOLLOWING MACHINERY DAMAGED BY FLOODING: BOTH STBD PUMP MOTORS, BOTH STARTER MOTORS, STBD MAIN ENGINE, STBD ENGINE REDUCTION GEAR.

RENEW ALL GRAB LINES TO 5 LIFE FLOATS.

SECURE WIRES TO ELECTRIC BILGE PUMPS IN PORT AND STARBOAD AFT LAZARETTE, UP OUT OF BILGE.

SECURE WIRE RUNS IN ENGINE ROOMS WITH 1/2" WIDE CLIPS AND FURNISH MISSING GLOBES & CAGES TO LIGHTS IN ENGINE ROOMS

REPAIR LOOSE ENGINE MOUNT TO STBD GENERATOR

RENUW STRINGS TO BOTTOM FLOORS ON ALL (5) LIFT FLOOTS.

RENEW BOTH REMOTE FUEL SHUT OFF REACH RODS AND PROVE OPERATION.

PROVIDE SEVEN ADULT LIFEJACKETS.

RENEW HOSE CONNECTION TO STBD FIRE HOSE STATION.
