There shall be provided a fixed fire detection and fire alarm system complying with the requirements of regulation 13. The fixed fire detection system shall be capable of rapidly detecting the onset of fire. PSCO observed that the fire detection system in zone 7 cargo deck 11, and partially in cargo deck 10, was not functioning properly during test. 74 SOLAS(97)II-2/53.2.1

Resolution: Affected smoke alarms in Cargo Zone 7 were restored to normal operation (see documents).

All cargoes, other than solid and liquid bulk cargoes, cargo units and cargo transport units, shall be loaded, stowed, and secured throughout the voyage in accordance with the Cargo Securing Manual. Cargo Securing manual does not address how to secure vehicles with no securing points. PSCO observed cargo on multiple decks that wsere not secured acording to the ship's cargo securing manual. Cargo securing manual does not address how to secure vehicles with no securing points. 74 SOLAS(04) VI/5.6
