A power-driven fire pump shall be installed on each mechanically propelled “S” vessel which is a ferry vessel or which is permitted to carry more than 49 passengers, and on each mechanically propelled “L” vessel. During the annual inspection, MI observed the fire pump leaking. Repair to MI satisfaction prior to the carriage of passengers.

The construction and arrangement of a vessel must allow the safe operation of the vessel in accordance with the terms of its Certificate of Inspection giving consideration to provisions for a seaworthy hull.. Crack was found below the waterline in the lazarette between rudder post and forward bulkhead that is actively seeping in water. Conduct temporary repair to the crack while vessel awaits to be hauled out for emergency dry dock. Once vessel is hauled out, provide repair proposal for permanent repairs to the satisfaction of the MI. Vessel is authorized a one time transit to BSY for the emergency haul out.
