Cable ties made from approved materials other than metal (such as polyamide, PVC) can be used provided that they are flame-retardant in accordance with IEC Publication 60092-101. Where used for cables not laid on top of horizontal cable trays or similar, suitable metal cable ties are to be added at regular intervals not exceeding 2 m (6.5 ft) in order to prevent the release of cables in a fire. There were multiple overhead wire bundle in the machinery space that were supported by standard zip ties with no further metal support ties. ABS MVR Part 4-8-4/21.9.3
