Repairs or alterations to the hull, machinery, or equipment that affect the safety of the vessel must not be made without the approval of the cognizant OCMI. The vessel has made several additions to the AC electrical system that have not been reviewed and approved by the OCMI, including the removal and replacement of the AC generator. Provide revised AC and DC electrical one line diagrams and an updated electrical plant load analysis to the Marine Safety Center for review and approval.

Each generator and motor must be designed for an ambient temperature of 50C (122 F). A generator or motor designed for 40 C may be used in 50 C ambient locations provided the generator or motor is derated to 80 percent of the full load rating and the rating, and the rating or setting of the overcurrent devices is reduced accordingly. The newly installed Phasor generator is rated at an ambient temperature of 40 C. Derate the generator to 80 percent of full load rating and ensure the currently installed overcurrent device is reduced accordingly.
