Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons onboard under normal and emergency conditions. The vessel experienced a temporary loss of power on the number 1 generator and the failure resulted in a loss of power to the vessel for approximately 30 seconds before the number 3 standby generator came online. Vessel to conduct repairs prior to departing St. Charles. TPO report required to be submitted attesting to full operations and safe navigation of vessel.
