Each tank vessel must undergo dry dock, internal structural, and cargo tank internal examinations. As per MSM Vol II guidance the barge wishes to be designated as not in service but not gas freed. Vessel is granted a one year extension to its ISE requirements. The barge must maintain a valid COI, including annual and periodic inspections. The vessel must be boarded and checked for damage and/or cargo integrity at least once a week by an owner's rep. ISE must be performed before the barge is put back into service. Vessel is allowed 4 one year extensions; not to exceed a total of 4 years from the original ISE date. At the end of the fourth extension, the barge must undergo all required hull examinations or its COI must be surrendered.
