At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification, the marine inspector may require that an abandon ship or man overboard drill be held under simulated emergency conditions specified by the inspector.
MIs observed during the man overboard drill it was extremely difficult for the deck hand to bring the simulated person in the water back on to the vessel by use of the rescue platform alone. Deckhand required the use of a "passenger" to assist in lifting the individual from the water and onto the vessel, putting the passenger at risk of falling overboard or injury. Vessel must revise their man overboard emergency procedures to be able to safely retrieve a person from the water without additional help from passengers or having the master leave the operating station.

Remote fuel shutoff stations must be marked in clearly legible letters at least 1 inch high. The remote fuel shutoff located within the fuel tank space is not shielded and is only accessible through the hatch. The location of the controls also needs to be labeled.
