To stop the flow of fuel in the event of a fire or break in the fuel line, a remote fuel shutoff valve must be fitted on any fuel line that supplies fuel directly to a propulsion engine or generator prime mover. Vessel has 06 different locations where fuel valves are not installed from outside the space. Vessel shall install means to shutoff 06 fuel valves from outside the spaces in which they serve. 46 CFR 143.260(b)

Vessel had nonmetallic flexible hoses supplying fuel to both generators and USCG inspectors could not determine if flexible hose was designed for use with compression fittings. Vessel shall change nonmetallic flexible hoses to meet either SAE J1475 or SAE J1942 and properly clamp hoses. 46 CFR 143.265 (d)(2)(v)(A)

A portable fire extinguisher on the aft deck and one in the machinery space did not have approved strap-type brackets. Vessel shall replace with approved strap-type brackets. 46 CFR 142.240 (a)(1)
