Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons on-board under normal and emergency conditions. Vessels port main diesel engine exhaust piping, exiting the engines turbo is missing exhaust lagging. Further the piping was found to have an approximate 1/2"X 4" hole allowing exhaust gas to escape withing the engine room. Vessels crew made temporary repairs until replacement piping arrives.
