A vessel's machinery is designed and must be maintained to provide for safe operation of the vessel and safety of persons on board under normal and emergency conditions.
While attempting to depart the dock of Bayport, ITV PATRIOT experienced a loss in propulsion due to turbo on the port main overheating; crew shut down engine. The vessels managed to maneuver back to dock; make notifications. Vessel will remain at the dock of Bayport until morning, will notify CG in writing of any transit plans prior to movement or operations. Vessel allowed to shift at dock with assistance. Upon CG approval, Vessel will be allowed to transit. Prior to cargo operations, vessel must conduct permanent repairs to the satisfaction of Third Party Organization or attending CG Marine Inspector.
Notify USCG Sector Houston-Galveston if anything changes from the plan. Failure to comply with this 835 will be in violation of 46CFR137.120 and may result in penalties.
