Vessel will replace with proper color container to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

To stop the flow of fuel in the event of a fire or break in the fuel line, a remote fuel shutoff valve must be fitted on any fuel line that supplies fuel directly to a propulsion engine or generator prime mover. The valve must be installed in the fuel piping directly outside of the fuel oil supply tank. The valve must be operable from a safe place outside the space where the valve is installed. Fuel shutoff valve cable was not installed properly and could not shut off the fuel valve. Vessel will repair or replace to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

There must be an installed or portable bilge pump. Vessel's installed bilge pump is full of oil. During testing of bilge pump a clean bag was placed around the suction strainer and filled with water. When bilge pump was energized 1 gallon of oil came out into the water. Remove all associated piping and ensure there are free of oil. Recommend replacing PVC piping with metal pipe. 46 CFR 143.275
