Machinery and electrical systems must be designed and maintained to provide for safe operation of the towing vessel and safety of persons onboard under normal and emergency conditions. While transiting from Seattle, WA. to Barbers Point, HI. vessel experienced a reduction of propulsion due to a casualty to the vessel's port main engine. The SIGRID DUNLAP's tug and tow arrangement is prohibited from transiting any port within the Sector Honolulu [name withheld] without the assistance from a towing vessel(s) of adequate horsepower and maneuverability until satisfactory repairs of the vessel's port engine is completed to the satisfaction of the vessel's third party organization (TPO). Please submit a copy of the TPO's approval for repairs to [email withheld].
