Every line above is a count of records the US Coast Guard wrote, or a date it recorded. A blank resolution means none was recorded in this data; it does not establish that a deficiency is outstanding. Years with a record are calendar years in which a record exists, not years in service. Every recorded inspection, 1980 to 2026 for this class, in one chronology · every deficiency, with system, dates and resolution · operational controls imposed and removed · every name this hull has been recorded under · the vessels it was inspected alongside, and when · how its record compares with hulls of similar age and size, as a fact about the population and never a judgement about this vessel.

07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Fire pumps and its pipes
Issued 11 July 2025 Resolved
The fire main must have a sufficient number of fire hydrants with attached hose to allow a stream of water to reach any part of the machinery space using a single length of fire hose. The hose must be a lined commercial fire hose 50 feet in length. Current fire main arrangement with 2 hydrants on the second deck does not adequately reach all parts of the machinery space, even with 75 foot hose. Provide an additional fire hydrant and fire hose near the fidley as discussed.
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 1 December 2025
Resolved 2 July 2026
Resolution: An additional fire station was installed outside the fidley with accompanying 50 foot UL 19 hose. Attending MI observed operational test of this new station and that the new hose can reach into the engine room.
07 - Fire Safety › N/A - No Subsystem › Fire-dampers
Issued 11 July 2025 Resolved
Means must be provided for closing, in case of fire, each doorway, ventilator, and annular space around funnels and other openings into machinery spaces. Provide a means for closing off the ventilation ducting between the engine room and lazarette that does not require a crewmember to go into the engine room (current closure devices must be closed from inside engine room).
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 1 December 2025
Resolved 2 July 2026
Resolution: Manual valves were installed in the duct piping outside the engine room (forawrd bosun stores and lazarette, respectively) to the satisfaction of the attending MI. This allows the space to be sealed up without going into the engine room.
11 - Life Saving Appliances › N/A - No Subsystem › Launching arrangements for survival craft
Issued 11 July 2025 Resolved
Survival craft must be stowed in accordance with the requirements of 199.130 of this chapter, as far as is practicable on existing towing vessels. Each survival craft must be stowed so as to not require lifting from its stowed position in order to launch, except that a survival craft that weights 185 kg (407.8 pounds) or less may be lifted not more than 1 foot in order to launch. Each liferaft must be arranged to permit it to drop into the water from the deck on which it is stowed. Replace fixed railings with safety chains (or similar arrangement) so that the 10 person liferaft stored on the second deck can be more readily deployed into the water from its stowed position.
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 1 December 2025
Resolved 2 July 2026
Resolution: A section of the fixed railing was cropped out and replaced with safety chains to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector.
14 - Pollution Prevention › N/A - No Subsystem › VGP: Notice of Intent (NOI)
Issued 11 July 2025 No resolution recorded
A VGP NOI is required for all vessels over 300 gross tons or with a ballast tank capacity of over 8 m3 (2,113 gallons). Subject vessel is 424 GT ITC (ITC tonnage must be used for the purposes of VGP applicability, if assigned). Provide proof of NOI and implementation of VGP requirements onboard.
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 1 December 2025 — due date passed with no resolution recorded
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Other (machinery)
Issued 11 July 2025 No resolution recorded
Verification of compliance with construction and arrangement design standards of this part must be performed according to the following table: for a vessel on which a new installation that is not a “replacement in kind” is made, then the applicable requirements must be met before the new installation is performed. Verification of compliance with design standards, when required by 144.135, must be performed by an individual or entity who meets the requirements of 144.140. The interior and outfittings of the vessel has been significantly gutted and rebuilt since being purchased by the current owner, which includes various alterations and not in kind replacements. Work with the OCMI to identify all items that still require verification of design standards (verification of design standards for stability has been completed by RINA as of 7/10/25), and complete verification of design standards to the satisfaction of the local OCMI.
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 1 December 2025 — due date passed with no resolution recorded
01 - Certificates & Documentation › 011 - Ships Certificates › Other (certificates)
Issued 4 March 2020 Resolved
This vessel has received a CG-835V due to the owner or managing operator’s failure to meet the requirements of the Certificate of Inspection phase-in period per 46 CFR §136.202(a).
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 4 June 2020
Resolved 10 July 2020
Resolution: Owner requested an initial certification for the HENRY FOSS ON 650272 instead of the BARBARA FOSS to meet the requirements of the Certificate of Inspection 50% phase-in period per 46 CFR §136.202(a).
13 - Propulsion and Auxiliary Machinery › N/A - No Subsystem › Propulsion main engine
Issued 21 December 2019 Resolved
Propulsion machinery, including main engines, must have suitable propulsion controls to provide operator full control at each operating station. Vessel reported an air leak on the control air system that resulted in a loss of propulsion. Make permanent repairs to control air system.
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 23 December 2019
Resolution: Vessel replaced No.1 air compressor motor and port main engine clutch. Completed sat operational test of air compressor and propulsion machinery.
Engineering › Diesel Engine (propulsion-reduction gear) › Bearing
Issued 3 March 2017 Resolved
STBD reduction gear box was found to have a damaged bearing making STBD propulsion INOP. Vessel to make perm repairs to satisfaction of the attending CG Marine Inspector prior to engaging in commercial towing ops.
Condition: Damaged By Earlier Event
Action required: 705 - Other - as specified
Due 31 May 2017
Resolved 2 May 2017
Resolution: All repairs to STBD gear box were found sat. Completed Operational testing all items found sat.

The Coast Guard's documentation record for this hull -- the Abstract of Title, with its owners and liens as filed -- is not in PSIX. Ask, and Maury buys it from the National Vessel Documentation Center, files it here with its date, and every reader of this page gets it.
