Issued 16 April 2021 Resolved
In tankers, electrical equipment, cables, and wiring shall not be installed in hazardous locations unless it conforms with standards not inferior to those acceptable to the Organization. PSCO observed exposed wiring in hazardous locations on the port side pilot embarkation light and overhead light in the vicinity of the midship BOSN storage locker rendering them both not explosion proof. Vessel is NOT cleared to conduct cargo operations until repairs are made.
Condition: Improper Installation
Action required: 17 - Rectify deficiencies prior to departure
Resolved 17 April 2021
Resolution: Class surveyor attended vessel to confirm repairs made to lighting fixtures. Class report received.
