EMS 342 sustained significant damage to bow void consisting of crushed knuckle spanning 25 feet in length by 8 feet, with largest hole starting 10 feet above waterline. Barge authorized transit to Houma for repairs. Additionally, conduct assessment of fwd cargo tks, provide local OCMI with findings.

Resolution: Inspected vessel repair; conducted visual internal inspection and external; conducted leak test of bow rake at 2 psi. Test sat. Verified cargo tank integrity on prior inspection; all sat. No signs of external damage to fwd. cargo tanks to voids.

Due to current condition of integrated fuel tank it cannot be used to supply vessels prime mover. A temporary fuel supply has been established.
