Where flexible nonmetallic hose is permitted for use in this section, it must meet SAE J-1942 or be specifically approved by the Commandant. The following restrictions apply: Flexible nonmetallic hose must be complete with factory assembled end fittings complying with SAE J-1475. Vessel found with USCG Type A1 (J1527) hose running from its fuel tank to its water separator, to its main engine. The length is approximately 10' total; exceeding the 30" maximum for use of Type A1. Replace fuel hose with hose meeting the specifications indicated above.
