Every line above is a count of records the US Coast Guard wrote, or a date it recorded. A blank resolution means none was recorded in this data; it does not establish that a deficiency is outstanding. Years with a record are calendar years in which a record exists, not years in service. Every recorded inspection, 1972 to 2026 for this class, in one chronology · every deficiency, with system, dates and resolution · operational controls imposed and removed · every name this hull has been recorded under · the vessels it was inspected alongside, and when · how its record compares with hulls of similar age and size, as a fact about the population and never a judgement about this vessel.

Read one first, in full: a forty-year chronology · a hull that changed operators four times · the sparse case, shown as an example, not for sale.

This report is in development and is not for sale yet. There is no date, and nothing is charged. Leave an email and we will tell you when it exists, once.

09 - Working and Living Conditions › 092 - Working Conditions › Electrical
Issued 23 January 2026 Resolved
Where conduit is installed, the applicable requirements of NFPA 70, Clause 9 of IEC 61892-7: 2019, or Clause 7 of IEC of 60092-502: 1999 must be followed. The conduit connection to an elbow which leads to lighting is broken and was being "sealed" with electrical tape, creating a potential for a source of ignition in a hazardous zone. Repair conduit IAW applicable standards to ensure it is properly sealed and not creating a potential hazard in the hazardous zone. Provide proof of repairs to the MI.
Condition: Damaged By Earlier Event

Issued 27 October 2025 Resolved
All tank vessels, the construction or conversion of which was started on or after July 1, 1951, shall conform to the requirements of this subpart in the construction of hulls. On 27OCT25 while transiting the Columbia River near mile marker 322, THE PIONEER ccollided with a spud barge owned by Tidewater Barge Lines, Inc. This resulted in a crack about a quarter inch in diameter to the #2 STBD Void Tank located between frames #8 and #9 approximately 17 feet above the waterline. Permanent repairs must be completed to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector prior to the vessel returning to service. 46 CFR 32.60-1; 701c; Self Reported
Action required: 701 - Prior to carriage of passengers/cargo
Resolved 29 October 2025
Resolution: Damage was non structural nor did it affect the watertight envelope of the hull. Damage was to a hand grab on the deck used for climbing out of the vessel. Company repaired hand grab and tested void as an extra precaution. All sat.

The Coast Guard's documentation record for this hull -- the Abstract of Title, with its owners and liens as filed -- is not in PSIX. Ask, and Maury buys it from the National Vessel Documentation Center, files it here with its date, and every reader of this page gets it.
