Scantlings, material and workmanship...shall be at least equivalent to the requirements of the American Bureau of Shipping or other recognized class society. During required annual survey of bow and stern rake it was discovered that port side insert with 2 side shell longitudinal support beams had never been welded. Vessel is to grind and weld. Furthermore, lower side longitudinal support support beam on stbd side had fractured. Also found a crack in the headlog support frame. Vessel is to make proper repairs prior to departure to the satisfaction of the MI. 1. Bow rake port side frame 1-2/3, missing weld on side shell upper angle. Clean up and weld. 2. Bow rake port side frame 1-2/3, missing weld on side shell lower angle. Clean up and weld. 3. Bow rake stbd side frame 2-1/3, crack in side shell angle support. Crop at least 12” in all directions and renew in kind. 4. Bow rake stbd side head log inboard of push knee, crack in steel supports. Crop at least 12” in all directions and renew in kind.

T/B NEW DAWN sustained damage to aft port quarter during allision. Vessel is not permitted to carry cargo until damage assessment and repairs are conducted. Vessel is permitted to transit back to Vancouver with no cargo onboard. Repairs must be completed to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector prior to returning to service.
