A vessel must carry one floating waterlight, unless it is limited to daytime operation, in which case no floating waterlight is required. Each floating waterlight must be approved in accordance with § 161.010 in subchapter Q of this chapter. Vessels floating light battery was expired.

Each lighting fixture globe, lens, or diffuser must have a guard or be made of high strength material, except in an accommodation space, radio room, galley, or similar space where it is not subject to damage. Vessel was missing light covers in engine room and pump room.

An adult life jacket must be provided for each person carried on board a vessel. Vessel's lifejackets were found in not serviceable condition. Reduced total persons allowed to 128.

On a vessel of at least 7.9 meters (26 feet) in length, a visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate a high water level in each of the following normally unmanned spaces. Vessels pump room bilge high level alarm light was inoperable.

A fire hose with a nozzle must be attached to each fire hydrant at all times. Have fittings of brass or other suitable corrosion-resistant material that comply with NFPA 1963 (incorporated by reference, see 46 CFR 175.600) or other standard specified by the Commandant.MI observed incompatable fitting at fire station.

Wiring joints and splices shall be mechanically secure and made in junction boxes. MI observed wire terminal strip mounted to forward bulkhead in engine room.

Suitable covers, guards or rails shall be installed in way of all exposed and hazardous places such as gears, machinery, etc. MI observed no guard over the pulley for the bilge/fire pump attached to the port engine. 46 CFR 177.35-15 (Old-T)

All electrical installation shall be to the satisfaction of the Officer In Charge, Marine Inspections. MI found a distribution panel where half of the breakers were not labeled.

Where liquid level indicating gages are installed, they shall be of heat resistant materials, adequately protected from mechanical damage and provided at the tank connections with devices which automatically close in he event of rupture of the gage or gage lines. Both fuel tanks are using non-heat resistant rubber lines. Replace rubber lines with heat resistant materials, adequately protected from mechanical damage and provided at the tank connections with devices which automatically close in he event of rupture of the gage or gage lines.

Repairs or alterations to the machinery that affect the safety of the vessel must not be made without the approval of the cognizant OCMI. The starboard engine has a temporary repair for the engine shutdown. Make permanent repairs to the starboard engine shutdown to the satisfaction of the marine inspector.

Rotating machinery must be properly protected by cover, guard or rail. The Starboard engine's belts are not protected and protrude close to the crew walkway. Make sure the rotating machinery is properly protected by guard, cover or rail.

Shutoff valves, installed so as to close against the fuel flow, must be fitted in the fuel supply lines, one at the tank connection and one at the engine end of the fuel line to stop fuel flow when servicing accessories. The port fuel tank isolation valve was inoperable from outside the space. Repair/replace.

On a vessel of at least 26ft, a visual and audible alarm must be provided at the operating station to indicate high water level. The vessel's high water level alarm for the pump room was inoperable. Fix the bilge high level alarm so it is audible and visual. Vessel given 7 days for repair.

A voltmeter and an ammeter shall be provided that can be used to measure voltage and current of each generator. Vessel's ammeter was not operational. Fix the ammeter.

At each initial and subsequent inspection the marine inspector shall examine and test electrical items to the extent necessary to determine safe condition for service intended. Emergency lighting on vessel was not operating when main power supply was off. Have emergency lighting operational in accordance with regulations.

Vessels shall be inspected for compliance and shall be in accordance with standards acceptable to the Marine Inspector. Vessel's watertight door exhibited rot at the bottom frame. Fix rot under watertight door.

The Certificate of Inspection shall be posted under glass or other suitable material so all pages are visible that observation of passengers is likely. Vessel did not have original COI on board or posted. Have original Certificate of Inspection on board and posted as per the regulations.

A vessel must carry either a first-aid kit approved under approval series 160.041 or a kit with equivalent contents and instructions. Vessel did not have an acceptable first-aid kit. Have on board an acceptable first-aid kit.

As appropriate for the intended voyage, a vessel must carry adequate and up-to-date charts. Vessel's chart was not up-to-date. Update chart.

No Marine Employer shall engage or employ any individual to serve as a crewmember unless the individual passes a chemical test for dangerous drugs for that employer. Marine employers shall establish programs for the chemical testing for dangerous drugs on a random basis of crewmembers on inspected vessels who meet criteria in 46 CFR 16.230(a)(1)through(3). Not all current employees meeting this criteria have been enrolled in the vessel's drug testing program. 46 CFR 16.210 & 230

Bilge suctions shall be fitted with suitable strainers having an open area not less than three times the area of the bilge pipe. The bilge pipe piercing the collision bulkhead shall be fitted with a screw-down valve located on the forward side of the collision bulkhead and operable from above the weather deck. In lieu thereof, a screw-down valve may be fitted to the bilge line on the after side of the collision bulkhead if it is readily accessible under service conditions. The bilge piping piercing the collision bulkhead is not fitted with a strainer, and has no screw-down valve forward or aft of the collision bulkhead. 46 CFR 182.25-5 (b)&(d) Deficiency must be corrected during Winter 2019/2020 haul-out.

The #2 generator was found to have a CG-A1 fuel hose exceeding 30" in length, replace fuel hose with an approved SAE J-1942 type or metallic piping.

02 Fuel strainers were found to have zip-ties on them to prevent leaks, repair/replace/remove both fuel tank strainers.

The #2 generator cooling hose was being held in place with rope, provide piping/hose with permanent bracket.

Both fuel tank sight glasses were found with the valve open, label valves "To be left closed."

The forward water tight door could not fully closed, make door watertight.

03 lighting sockets were found to be broken and missing, repair and make operable.

Numerous electrical boxes were found un-mounted, permanently mount all outlet/switch/junction boxes.

02 bolts on the steering cable turnbuckles were found to be undersized, replace bolts with larger diameter.

Lazarette outlet was found un-mounted and supply power cable had no bulkhead fitting, mount outlet and provide fitting.

Galley space high-level visual indicator was inoperable, repair or replace.

Retro-reflective tape on several lifejackets and one ring buoy were wasted away, renew retro-reflective tape.

Make modifications to rescue platform to increase stability and performance.

Replace retroreflective material on 26 adult and 06 child lifejackets.

Terminate dead-end speaker wire on port and starboard side in bar area.

Provide drug and alcohol testing records.

Crop and renew forepeak port side areas identified during previous hull exam.

Repair/replace firepump. Pump leaks excessively. No operation permitted with firepump removed.
