46 CFR 182.30-1. All vessels except non-self-propelled vessels shall be provided with suitable steering apparatus. MI observed the steering ram is excessively lose in it's mounting bracket. The pin is steel and the bracket is made of aluminum causing corrosion and wear resulting in the excessive play.

46 CFR 176.25-5 At each initial and subsequent inspection for certification, the Marine Inspector shall...conduct the following tests and inspecions...so that the marine inspector may satisfy himeself as to the condition of the hull structure. MI observed aft Port and STBD mooring cleats to be cracking at the weld connection points to the deck in the steering compartment.

Each small battery installation must be located in a well ventilated space and protected from falling objects. 01 battery in the engine room port side was found with corroded terminals and missing cover. Clean corrosion and install cover to satisfaction of marine inspector. 46 CFR 183.354(b)

Whenever damage or deterioration to hull plating or structural members that may affect the seaworthiness of a vessel is discovered or suspected, the cognizant OCMI may conduct an internal structural examination...and may require the vessel...to effect permanent repairs. The 2nd side long below deck is fractured in the fillet weld attachment to the starboard side shell just forward of the aft engine room bulkhead, the 4th side long below deck is fractured away from the aft engine room bulkhead on the starboard side, and the main deck is fractured into the base material off of the corner of a previous repair on the starboard side just forward of the aft engine room bulkhead. Provide repair proposal and repair at next dry dock to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector. 46 CFR 176.600(d)

Machinery, equipment, materials, and arrangements not covered by standards in this subchapter may be inspected IAW standards acceptable to the cognizant OCMI as good marine practice. Pipe in the center hold that comes from the sea chest is open in the space. Opening the valve would cause would cause flooding in the space. Cap pipe to prevent water ingress if the valve was opened.

Machinery… IAW standards acceptable… as good marine practice. Stbd shaft seal missing 01 of 02 hose clamps on fwd end. Add 2nd hose clamp.

"Propulsion machinery must be suitable in type and design for the propulsion requirement of the hull in which it is installed and capable of operating at constant marine load under such requirements without exceeding its designed limitations." Master reported that the starboard main engine was overheating and producing white smoke, which is outside of its designed limitations for safe operating temperature. Vessel shall identify the cause of the high temperature, submit a repair plan, and complete repairs to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector prior to carriage of passengers or cargo.

High Level Bilge Alarm panel is inoperable. Vessel is to repair or replace within 14 days and is required to visually inspect bilges before and after each trip until rectifed.

Make repairs to port MDE.

Due to suspected damage incurred after striking wood debris, the vessel must haul out for examination of running gear and to assess structural condition. Exam and/or repair shall be conducted to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector prior to operating as a passenger vessel. 46CFR176.670

Exposed breakers on bridge distribution panel need to be blanked off.

Provide up to date navigation publications and charts.

Mark correct number of lifejackets in overhead storage area.

Provide valid FCC station licence and safety certificate.

Vessel must haul out for examination to assess structural condition to the satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector and prior to operating as a passenger vessel.
