The pin is steel and the bracket is made of aluminum causing corrosion and wear resulting in the excessive play.

Whenever damage or deterioration to hull plating or structural members that may affect the seaworthiness of a vessel is discovered or suspected, the cognizant OCMI may conduct an internal structural examination...and may require the vessel...to effect permanent repairs. The 2nd side long below deck is fractured in the fillet weld attachment to the starboard side shell just forward of the aft engine room bulkhead, the 4th side long below deck is fractured away from the aft engine room bulkhead on the starboard side, and the main deck is fractured into the base material off of the corner of a previous repair on the starboard side just forward of the aft engine room bulkhead. Provide repair proposal and repair at next dry dock to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector.

Master reported that the starboard main engine was
overheating and producing white smoke, which is outside of its designed limitations for safe operating temperature.
Vessel shall identify the cause of the high temperature,
submit a repair plan, and complete repairs to the
satisfaction of the attending Marine Inspector prior to
