On 11 DEC 07 a wave broke the No. 1 Hydraulic deck box from its mountings. The valves which were operated from this deck box are the No. 1 Port and Stbd cargo tank main valves, No.1 Port and Stbd cargo tank stripping valves, Forepeak tank ballast valve, No 1 Port and Stbd Ballast valves, No 2 Port and stbd fwd Ballast valves.

Resolution: ABS inspected the deficiency and saw that the original box was re-used and re-installed. The valve control actuators were leaned up, bench tested and re-installed. Parts were replaced as required. The hydraulic oil system was cleaned out as well.

26 Aug 2005: Attended vessel moored stbd side to Valdez container dock. Vessel reported a 4" crack at the fillet weld where the pump room joins the bunker tank. The fracture was gouged out on both sides and NDT examined. Following completion of the welding, the area was tightness tested and found to be satisfactory. ABS survey report # S635109 on file this office. Inspection complete
