When major alterations or major repairs of tank vessels become necessary the work shall be done under the direction of the Officer in Charge, Marine Inspection, and shall be in accordance with the regulations in effect for new construction insofar as possible. MI observed deck gunwale insert at STBD #3 wing void. During the examination of repairs, MI found adjacent side chord crushed beyond 25% at all five side longitudinal connections. Crop and renew side chord to the satisfaction of the attending marine inspector prior to cargo operations. 46 CFR 30.01-10 701c

Fracture 11’ inboard of the starboard side and extending inboard 10’, the upper estimated 4’ of stern log is set in 0 - 4” to varying degrees with the adjacent deck distorted in way. Located 13’ inboard of the starboard side, deck is fractured 1.5” x 1/8”; located approximately 19’ inboard of the starboard side, the deck is pulled from internal vertical stiffener and holed in way 3” x 1.5”.
